It is the policy of GEMCO Constructors to strive for the highest safety standards on our projects. Safety does not occur by chance, it is part of our culture. The core values of integrity, safety, quality, productivity, and innovation form the foundation on which we make our decisions and perform our work. It is the result of careful attention to detail in all company operations by those who are directly and indirectly involved. Employees at all levels work diligently to execute the company’s policy of maintaining safety and occupational health to meet the goal of zero incidents.
Our safety program has been developed to assure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations with particular emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, and the OSHA requirements that apply to our construction operations (29 CFR Part 1926). It is the obligation of all employees to be knowledgeable of the standards established by these agencies and to implement the rules and regulations on projects under their direction.
Regard for the safety of the general public, our own employees, and the employees of our subcontractors are a supreme responsibility of all levels of the organization. We intend to proactively mitigate hazards to prevent any accidental injury, property damage, fire damage, and occupational illness. All of which could result in human suffering. Accidents, even minor one, cause pain, both physical and mental. Prevention of injury and illness is a goal well worthy of our achieving.
